Role in the network

Experienced Researcher (ER)

Materials Research Focus

Innovative structural and functional materials for diverse applications

Current Research Activities

The development of plasma based methods of producing thin films and modifying surfaces, uncluding the use of energetic ions to finely control surface properties. Current projects include the development of nanostructured coatings and functional biointerfaces. Skills include plasma diagnostic techniques and a wide range of materials charactierisation techniques including ellipsometry, stress measurement and ATR-IR (all with in-situ capabilities)
